INVENTORY/POS VERSION 55 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Please read all Instructions prior to Installation. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR REGISTRATION CODE BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL THIS PROGRAM!!! BEFORE WE BEGIN... ALL Current CGS Software Products REQUIRE PERVASIVE SQL version 7.0 or greater. If you are NOT currently running Pervasive SQL 7.0 or greater, please call CGS (561)392-6740. PREPARATION... As noted before, ALL RECAP FILES must be closed out and an End of Day must be successfully run! As many clubs use the CGS Inventory/POS for both their Proshop and Food&Beverage locations, please make sure that ALL such locations adhere to the EOD requirement before starting the first installation! It may be important to know what version you were using before the installation. Please go into your current Inventory Control/POS and write down the version number that appears at the top of the main menu screen Ver 55R____ ALL STATIONS MUST BE OUT OF INVENTORY CONTROL/POS BEFORE THE INSTALLATION CAN PROCEED. INSTALLATION... NOTES... When the symbol ^ is part of a command to be typed, do not type it. Instead, hit the Spacebar once. When the phrase (hit enter) is part of a command to be typed, do not type it. Instead, hit the enter key. Determine where your Inventory is located. To do so, from your windows desktop, Right-click on the Inventory Icon, go to Properties, and then Programs or Shortcut page. Write down the Command or Target line, exactly as you see it. [Examples] f:\apps\dcp (Novell Network) h:\apps\dcp (NT Network) d: (PC Lan) c:\dcp (stand alone computer) Write Path here: _________________________________________ Close this window. From the Desktop click on START, go to PROGRAMS and click on MSDOSPROMPT. At C:\WINDOWS> type the drive letter that you wrote down. [In the first example f:] and then hit ENTER. If your drive letter is C: type CD\ The prompt will change to the drive letter that you entered. To change directories type: CD\DCP (hit enter) ...where "\DCP" is the name of the directory you want to go to. To verify that the programs are located in the current sub-directory, type: DIR ^ INVT.* (hit enter) If the following files appear, you are in the correct sub-directory... INVT.EXE INVT.OVR In an earlier step of this upgrade, you probably downloaded the new version of INVENTORY/POS from the CGS Website at WWW.COMPUTERGOLF.COM. This new version should now be stored on a floppy diskette and labeled INV55R01. Place that diskette in drive A: and type: A:\INV55R01^ -OVERWRITE (hit enter) Two files will be copied onto your computer. When it is finished, remove the installation disk. The program is now installed, but a few steps still remain before it is operational. STARTING INVENTORY/POS VERSION 55 FOR THE FIRST TIME... Enter the Inventory Control/POS program with your standard command, or Windows Icon. YOU WILL BE PRESENTED WITH A QUESTION REGARDING BARCODES. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, AND RESPOND APPROPRIATELY. REGISTRATION is mandatory and the software will not function until it is completed. Find your registration code. When the registry screen appears, check that the club name next to the registration code is exactly the same that you can see on the screen. 1. Enter the Club Name exactly as registered if necessary, and hit ENTER 2. Enter the assigned registered number and hit ENTER. 3. The Inventory Menu will appear.
